Guide to setup your new 800PBX account
Congratulations! 800PBX welcomes you to the growing customer community of small and medium size businesses.
The following list will get you started with your initial virtual-pbx setup.
1) Login to the online panel with the username and password you opted during the signup process. The automated email sent after the signup process will confirm your account creation. If you haven’t received your account information yet, check your spam filters to allow emails from 800pbx.com domain.
2) 800PBX will setup your default welcome greeting and your business hours [M-F 9AM - 6PM CST] automatically. The callers are greeted with the default greeting. “Thanks for calling. Please enter the extension you wish to reach or hold for the operator.”
3) Create your extensions easily by following the steps here.
4) Select your working hours of your business from the setting menu. Let the default greeting stay there. You can change it later after completing the other steps when you are sure of all the extensions.
5) Make sure you designate one of your extensions as your operator extension. Operator extension will receive all the calls if the caller does not respond to the welcome greeting of if he is unsure of the department he wishes to reach. “0″ is typically used for this purpose.
6) Optional: If you have a brochure or product catalog, you can upload the document in pdf format and choose an extension for this. The callers reaching this extension will be asked to leave their faxback number. The system will automatically call the number and fax the uploaded document.
7) Optional: Create an extension for driving directions to your company along with your business hours.
8) Select your dial-by-name extension. We recommend “9″ for this.
9) All the employee extensions, dial-by-name and operator extension should be ready now.
800PBX allows one greeting done by a professional artist, free of cost. To use this option, select free greeting option from the greetings menu and enter the text. We recommend
“Thanks for calling XYZ Corporation. If you know your party’s extension, you may dial it at any time. Press 1 for sales, 2 for support, 3 for billing, 4 for our company directions, 5 for business hours, 9 for dial-by-name directory or 0 to reach our operator. Thank you for calling.”
Please allow 3-4 business days for the greeting to be uploaded. One of our support representatives will notify you of the update by email.
i) After the greeting is uploaded, make sure you select your new greeting as your business hours greetings from settings.
j) You can request for a free dedicated number. Place the request from Local Number option under settings. The turnaround time is 5-6 business days for your local number to be setup.
If you are unsure of any step or facing difficulty, please do not hesitate to reach us.
800PBX is a new toll-free number provider with many virtual-pbx features. We need your help to spread the word.

I felt the need to get a toll-free number again. I’ve worked with other provider before, and I think they have a good service but after hearing about 800pbx I thought it will be a lot better one than the previous one and signed up for it. It’s a great experience for me with 800pbx.
